Domestic Filters

Incorporating patented features* and many unique components our range of domestic iron removal filters offer exceptional performance and reliability.

The unique design of our filters ensures that efficiency levels are maintained for longer and servicing is less frequent.

Our range of filters offers flexibility for your private water supply. With standard filters designed to fit into your system. These are further complimented by a variety of options to suit virtually any site requirements.

Every single filter is fully hydraulically tested and quality assured.

SIRM – Shakesby Iron Removal Media, Our own propriety catalytic filter media
Back wash flow rate is half of the service flow rate

Unique & standard features include

  • SIRM – Shakesby Iron Removal Media, our own proprietary catalytic filter media
  • True, air scour back wash
  • Back wash flow rate is half of the service flow rate
  • Aeration, venting and filtration all in one unit
  • Unique ‘spider’ distributor
  • Air draw protected by a 0.2 micron nominal air filter
  • Self cleaning contact aerators
  • Flexi –vent

*British Patent No. 2368028, 1586689, 2062174.  All of the above features are used on the continually aerating filters. Not all are used on the EB range.

The EB range is used where the daily volume of water required and the iron level is relatively low

EB Range

Small domestic usage

The EB range is used where the daily volume of water required and the iron level is relatively low. Typically, used in single domestic households with some form of stored water and only one or two pressurised taps. They are self aerating and fit into the untreated pressurised supply.

Models: EB1354, EB1665 & EB1865

Iron level: 5000µg/l (micrograms per litre) combined Iron and Manganese

Designed to treat all of the water from the borehole pump and provide a treated, pressurised supply.

ET Range

For producing a pressurised supply

Designed to treat all of the water from the borehole pump and provide a treated, pressurised supply. They are fully integrated filters incorporating all of the patented and unique features. They can produce relatively high volumes of treated water and cope with much higher levels of iron than the EB range.

They can produce a direct pressurised supply into the household or a combination of direct and to storage via a float valve/ball cock.

Models: ET1354, ET1665 & ET1865

ED Range - When pumping water to a storage tank the levels are often controlled by a float switch

ED Range

For open ended systems

When pumping water to a storage tank the levels are often controlled by a float switch. This is known as an ‘open ended’ delivery system. Working in a similar way to the ET range the ED has additional controls to allow it to control the borehole pump in conjunction with the float switch.

Incorporating all of the patented and unique features, ED filters can also function as an ET filter.

Models: ED1354, ED1665 & ED1865

Where an untreated supply is also required Often, an untreated supply of water is useful for irrigation or washing down and only the household requires treated water.

SVET Range

Where an untreated supply is also required

Often, an untreated supply of water is useful for irrigation or washing down and only the household requires treated water. In these circumstances the SVET range can be used. These will take the required water from the untreated supply and produce a treated pressurised supply to the household. They also contain all of the patented and unique features.

Models: SVET1354, SVET1665 & SVET1865

Incorporating patented features* and many unique components our range of domestic iron removal filters offer exceptional performance and reliability

SVED Range

Where untreated and open ended are required

The SVED range offers a combination of both the ED and SVET functions. Working from a raw pressurised supply it will treat the required water and feed a float switch controlled storage tank. Very useful on farms requiring different water quality requirements.

Models: SVED1354, SVED1665 & SVED1865

MG range On most sites Manganese will be reduced by the aerating iron removal filters.

MG range

On most sites Manganese will be reduced by the aerating iron removal filters. Where tests indicate that this may not be achieved MG filters are used. Usually, they are installed as a second stage polishing filter but can also be used as ‘stand alone’ filters removing both Iron and Manganese.

Models: MG1054, MG1354 & MG1665

For aggressive waters Some waters can attack metals such as Copper and Lead

PHUP™ Units

For aggressive waters

Some waters can attack metals such as Copper and Lead. This can cause elevated levels of these metals in the water and failure of pipe work and hot water cylinders. Shakesby PHUP™ units are used to correct the aggressive nature of the water thus eliminating the problem.

PHUP™ units can also be used to aid iron and manganese removal performance in certain situations.
