When we were building our brewery in 2005 Shakesby water treatment was our first & natural choice. My father had dealt with their company founder for many years & only had good things to say. Our system has evolved since then due to our increasing requirements & legislation changes. We have always easily complied with the legal water quality requirements which give us confidence when brewing our beers. When we have had any minor issues with the plant it has often been solved over the phone & when it needed maintenance it has always been dealt with quickly & cost effectively.

HighWater (Scotland) Ltd. has been involved in all aspects of private water supplies for almost ten years. Until recently we have employed ‘off the shelf’ and self specified treatment systems for the removal of contaminants and particularly for elevated concentrations of both iron and manganese.

Although some of these systems have proved successful many have failed on installation or soon after and we had become alarmed by the lack of understanding and willingness to help from our suppliers. This was beginning to have a negative impact on both our reputation and our willingness to approach certain projects.

One particular site was highly problematic and it was in fact our client suggested we make contact with Shakesby’s whom she had found on the internet. ‘Every cloud has a silver lining’ and from our first conversation we realised that we had found something different.

Within a few days Tim Shakesby had driven from Norwich to the northern Highlands of Scotland, at his expense, with a van full of filters, fittings and inspiration!

This is almost a year ago now and things have improved dramatically for us; we are able to approach any water supply treatment issue with confidence, secure in the knowledge that the vast experience, specialised knowledge and customer support now available to us is without equal.

In this last year we have installed 10 Shakesby & Sons water treatment systems ranging from small domestic to large commercial filters.
